Business Development Executive
LOCATION: Bracknell
SALARY: £22,000 + OTE

iRecruit Partners are currently working with a company based in Bracknell who are looking for a Business Development Executive to join their rapidly expanding team. You will be responsible for improving market positioning and achieve financial growth. You will have to build key customer relationships, identify business opportunities, negotiate and close business deals and to maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions. You will also need to find potential new customers, present to them, ultimately convert them into clients, and continue to grow business in the future.


To telephone a known list of companies to assess and start/complete a purchasing process for specific types of their used manufacturing products. The role will have both a purchasing and a sales target.

New Business Development:

  • Create and executive a purchasing and sales plan to achieve the purchasing and the sales targets for the designated area
  • Cold calling a list of known companies to reach prospective sellers and purchasers of manufacturing machinery via different methods, LinkedIn, Jigsaw etc.
  • Utilise all the appropriate resources within the company to maximise the purchasing and sales opportunities; this will involve asking other members of staff for help in prospecting, procuring and selling
  • Keep the purchasing and the sales pipeline information up to date as requested by management and provide regular reports to other members of the team when necessary
  • Keep appropriate purchasing and sales metrics and suggest and implement changes when necessary
  • Help define and refine the business development role, the targets and the key performance indicators
  • Answer incoming calls
  • Participate in pricing the service
  • Work with engineers and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs

Business Development Planning:

  • Organise and attend machine viewings and presentations
  • Arrange machinery collections/deliveries
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns, services and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales
  • Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators

Management and Research Duties:

  • Submit weekly progress reports and ensure data is accurate
  • Ensure that data is accurately entered and managed within the company’s CRM or other sales management system
  • Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet targets

Other Duties:

  • Assist other employees as and when required to do so
  • Adhere to the company’s policies on health and safety and security
  • Contribute to the upkeep of the offices and toilet areas
  • Act in the best interest of the company at all times
  • Act and behave in a professional manner at all times


  • Engineering/manufacturing experience in the cosmetic or pharmaceutical industries would be ideal
  • Sales, purchasing and management experience is highly desirable
  • Refined interpersonal skills
  • Results orientated
  • Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques (including cold calls)
  • Track record of achieving sales quotas
  • Experience with CRM software
  • Familiarity with MS Excel
  • Understanding of sales performance metrics
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to deliver engaging presentations
  • BSc degree in Marketing, Business Administration or similar field desirable
